FAQs

What makes your milk different to the milk in the supermarket?

Conventional milk goes through a number of processes that completely degrade the original product from the cow. These include pumping, homogenisation, high-temperature continuous pasteurisation and standardising (separating and re-introducing cream). This leaves the milk tasting quite watery, 'burnt', and without the cream on top. My milk is non homogenised, processed on-site and only undergoes lower temperature batch pasteurisation, meaning it is as close to raw milk as you can legally get.

How fresh is it?

The cows are milked just once a day, every day, and their milk goes into the cool room within five hours of the start of milking. When you receive your order, your milk will be either maximum two days old, or from the day before!

Is your milk organic?

Yes, my milk is organic since I don't use any chemical fertilisers, pesticides, herbicides, or GMOs in the production of my milk. I also use certified organic grain and silage, and the farm has been certified organic for over a decade. The milk itself doesn't have organic certification since I realised it won't make any difference to the quality of the milk.

Why should I get milk in glass bottles?

By getting milk in glass bottles you can reduce plastic waste by me washing and refilling the bottles, and it is simply cleaner and tastes better.

How do I return my bottles?

I will please ask that you return all your bottles with the lids off, and thoroughly rinsed so that there is no milk residue left. This is because it makes it easier for me to clean, sanitise and refill the bottles back at the factory.

Do I need to sign up for a subscription?

I do require new customers to sign up for a weekly or fortnightly subscription if you are purchasing milk in glass bottles. This is so I can get the bottles back to clean and reuse. If you are purchasing 2L milk or yoghurts then a subscription is optional.

Can I return the yoghurt jars?

Yes please, with the lids off and rinsed, though it is only optional.

Can I make changes to my subscription?

Yes, you can pause, cancel or add and subtract products at any time.

When and where do you deliver?

Currently I only offer home delivery to Port Macquarie through my online store every Friday. If you are in Wauchope or the Camden Haven you can still order milk via home delivery by contacting me directly.

Do you offer pick up?

Yes, you can pick up your order from Redbank @ Oxhill Organics meat shop on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Fridays between 3 and 5pm.

Do you have a minimum order or delivery fee?

Yes, for home deliveries I have a minimum order of $20 and a delivery fee of $5. Delivery is FREE for orders over $45. If you can't meet the minimum order you do have the option of picking up from Redbank or buying milk from one of my stockists.

What time do you deliver, and do I have to be there?

I usually deliver early morning prior to 7am, or you will be notified via text if deliveries occur at any other time. Please leave out an esky for me to put your milk into, along with your bottle returns and payment (if you are paying cash). If by any chance you forget to leave your esky or bottle returns out, no problem, I will still deliver and can put your milk into a foam box with frozen water bottles to keep it cool.
